Surreality abounds

Driving home, just past the Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department (right about here), I saw a flock of birds, at least 40 I would have to say, flying in a fairly small circle. I could not tell what was the object of their attention.

Once I got home, I found a kiwi on the lawn. A soft, elliptical, fuzzy fruit (yes, I touched it, not sure if it was a rock.)

I’m tempted to try to interpret these bizarre images in a manner typically used on dreams (Freudian, Jungian, etc.)... I generally put absolutely zero stock in doing so, but here it seems... appropriate, for once. It was like a dream or a fairly esoteric film (Buñuel, Lynch, maybe?) come to life. No, I wasn’t high or drunk. Although the song on my iPod at the time was The Flaming Lips’ “Ego Tripping at the Gates of Hell,” a trip-tastic track if there ever was. I’ll post an update if I run into any chiens andalous...
