Oh, and I was in a minor car accident last night. My first. Not my fault.

I was thinking, for a blog post sometime, of listing things I've never done (eaten relish, ridden a camel, etc.) Now there's one less thing to include, I guess.

The important thing, Nicole was not hurt in the collision. I think I'm OK, too. And the car's doing fine, as well.

There was a police drunk-driving checkpoint on US Rt. 1 in Savage, causing one of the two lanes to be closed off, which apparently the driver behind me wasn't quite prepared to slow down for. His Acura bumped into my passenger-side fender, lodging a bit of his bumper-filling into my muffler's tailpipe. I think I'll keep the hunk of styrofoam as a reminder to always buckle up (as we were last night). And to always have my license with me (as the other driver did not).

I was tempted to tell the officer, who gave my a few pamphlets on the dangers of driving under the influence, that I would be sure to read the material on the way home. I would have had to watch out, of course, for DWR checkpoints, then, I suppose.
