So MS Word crashed hard in the middle of a rather elaborate post I was working on, which the autorecovery "tool" failed to erm recover fully. But there's no use in crying over lost bits. On with the show.
Two items:
1. Fan-created music videos can be fun. Need proof? Check out this clip for Grandaddy's Jed's Other Poem (Beautiful Ground) made by a dude named Stewart. Can't say I've ever seen a music video made on an Apple ][+ with 48K of RAM. Post a comment if you can find other members of the "rendered-on-a-pre-Reagan-administration-computer" genre to prove me wrong.
2. I'm diggin' the Welsh pop. Specifically, the Super Furry Animals' Playbook Vol. 1, a recent collection of singles, which has taken up permanent residence in my car CD case, and Goldie Lookin' Chain's "Your Missus is a Nutter." "Juxtapozed with U," the fourth cut on the SFA best-of, might just have the most brain-sticky chorus of any song this decade; listen to it once and it'll be on repeat in your head for the next 22 hours or so. As for that "Nutter" song, the less that is said, the better - just click the link and gasp at the gaudy wackiness. Dare me to take up the language (if only to learn how to pronounce the title of the Super Furries' debut EP: (gulp...) Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch(In Space).
Also, I just wanted to say that even though the feeling was not usually mutual (unless there were dinner leftovers to enjoy), I did care for Juliet and I do miss her. She was more than a pet, but was a friend, for so long, to my dearest friend, and I am glad to have known her for the relatively short time that I did. She deserves to be remembered very fondly, which I know everyone who met her will do. posted by Steve
