My, how the summer has flown by. I'm really very much beside myself at how much has happened recently, and regrettably how little of it has shown up here.
Much of my summer I have spent working as an intern with the Association of Maryland Pilots. No, not airline pilots - read their site to see what they're about. Anyway, it's been such a rewarding experience, I can't really describe it with such little time as I have. The bottom line is, they have a great organization to work with, and Paul, thanks so much - I'll actually miss going in to see what's new and what I can observe and help out with. That, and the cool stuff we've been able to talk about and find on the 'net. *Ahem* :-) Keep in touch!
Two weeks ago, I was invited again to join Nicole's family in Duck, North Carolina. The Outer Banks experience was once again wonderful, but it wouldn't have been anything without the amazing family who welcomed me and helped all of us have such a great time. I can't thank all of you enough!
Oh, and have I mentioned my new PC? It is quite the bomb, as the kids these days are wont to exclaim. Erherm... the specs (spot the phony one and win a prize):
Dell Dimension 4600 Series Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor with HT Technology (2.80GHz, 800 FSB)
512MB Dual Channel DDR SDRAM at 400MHz (2x256M)
Dell® Quietkey® Keyboard
18.1 in 1801FP Dell Ultrasharp™ Digital Flat Panel Display
Dell 5650 5.1 Surround Sound Speaker System with Subwoofer
Whee. Now I can play all the games from the last 4 years that I haven't had either the time or the processing power to play. Why, you might ask, have I spurlged on this rather exorbitant luxury (even if I did get it at just the right time... i.e., on the last day of a 20% off coupon)?
Well, ladies and germs, thought you'd never ask. After 21.5 years of living at home and 3 years as a commuter student, I'm moving on campus. Yep, you can call me the BMOC for sure, Big Man on Campus. (Even bigger if I gain the er, Senior 17, eh?) Come visit me sometime - I'll be at Chesapeake 259 North. I've hardly even begun to start to commence to initiate to think about packing. Hehe... there's so much time and so little to do! No, wait reverse that. Willy Wonka, I owe ya one.
Lastly, and above all, I just want to send out all of my love to Nicole, who's undergoing an in-patient hospital stay at Johns Hopkins to diagnose the specific type of seizure disorder she's been dealing with and to ascertain the best solution for it. I care about about you so very much - we all do, and I just want to do anything I can to help and support you. You mean everything to me, and I just want to do the best I can for you, as I know you'll always do for me. Thank you. I hope to see you again soon. Rest well.
Steve, I know it's been a hectic and crazy year so far, but despite it all, I have to make sure I let you know that I love you in all manners, possibilities and ways.
