Jerusalem - A woman stabbed her son to death in a dispute over his refusal to get off the computer and make his bed, police said on Tuesday.
Yelena Avramenko, 49, later admitted to killing her son, Denis, 26, and re-enacted the crime in front of investigators, police said.
"I asked him a number of times to stop playing on the computer and to go and make his bed," the Israeli newspaper Yediot Ahronot quoted the mother as saying. "After a while I saw him lying on his bed.
"I asked him again to make his bed but he just cursed me. I got angry and went to the kitchen, and in the heat of the moment I took a knife and stabbed him," she said, according to the paper's website.
Police said that at the time of the incident, late on Monday, the mother appeared to have been sober, but by the time police arrived at the scene she was drunk and incoherent.
Both mother and son were unemployed. They arrived in Israel two years ago from the former Soviet Union, police said.

As I said, geeks everywhere I'm sure are either shedding a tear or shuddering in fear. Or both. This brings to mind the ending of the novel La familia de Pascual Duarte, which my Spanish Literature class just finished reading. Only it was the son who killed the mother in that book. And there were no PCs involved, to the best of my knowledge. posted by Steve
